On Dec. 2 in Warsaw, the ladies defended their home court in their season opener winning 61-25 over King & Queen. Then in the following three away games, the Lady Raiders lost to Charles City, 48-44, but defeated Mathews 46-41 and Essex, 45-33, in the Northern Neck Rivalry Tip-Off Classic at Lancaster High School.

“I think we played well in four games in six days and was pleased with their play,” Gaines said.

Selene Epps led the Raiders scoring in all four games last week.  On opening night, Epps scored 31 points against King & Queen to open the season.
