predecessors, Epps said she is feeling the pressure of leading the Lady Raiders.

“I want to do better than I did last year by taking on new positions and help support everyone else to their best,” Epps said.

The junior said she is excited about the upcoming season as well as her coach Ellen Gaines.

“We’re excited about the new season and have a great group coming back,” Epps said.

Along with Epps, starters Ashley Towles and Cedara Ashton return to the team this season. Lexi Hanks and Keshawna Veney will join the three and their efforts.

The aggressive defense by freshman Megan Elbourn helped her earn a spot on the varsity team this season.  Seniors Rhiannon Mulvena, Sakinah Freeman, Sara Cait Gallager and Harmony Price will join Elbourn. Juniors Nakya Ward, Elizabeth France, Makenzie Hall and Rachel Douglas round out the rest of the team.
