A high school and collegiate volleyball standout is not playing much these days. Instead, she is directing her attention to
helping her alma mater in Tappahannock build an even stronger athletics department.
This past fall sports season, Cynthia Walker quietly returned to St. Margaret’s School as the new volleyball head coach and athletic director.
Before the current school year, Walker said she learned about the vacancy and couldn’t turn it down.
“I learned it was a great opportunity and hard to pass up,” Walker said, adding that this is an exciting time for the program.
Since graduating in 1999 from St. Margaret’s School, Walker concluded her collegiate playing days at the University of Florida and then following a knee injury transferred to Longwood University. Walker explained that St. Margaret’s prepared her for life after school.
