The election results are in for Lancaster County, and the three-way race to represent voters in the 5th district on the school board has ushered in a new voice.

On Nov. 5, Irvington resident and dentist Dr. Robert Westbrook unseated incumbent and current School Board Chairman Alex Fleet by over 250 votes.

Out of the 1,095 Lancaster County citizens who cast their votes in the election, Westbrook captured nearly half of that total with 545 votes, followed by Fleet with 291, challenger and former School Board Member William C. “Bill” Smith with 256 and three submissions for write-in candidates.
