The Richmond County Little League will be hosting a sign up for fall baseball and Softball on Aug. 7 from 6-8 p.m. in the building beside Union Bank in Warsaw. The cost for fall baseball and softball is $40.

 

In preparation for their 14th year of girls fastpitch softball, the Northern Neck Rage will have makeup tryouts for girls ages 8 – 16 at Rappahannock Community College in Warsaw on Aug. 8 at 5:30 p.m. Parents need to pre-register their player on the Rage website www.northernneckrage.com.  For more information, call (804) 761-8002 or email info@northernneckrage.com.      

 

Colonial Beach Ladies Bowling League will be having its pre-season meeting at 10 a.m. on Aug. 20 at AMF Bowling Center in Fredericksburg. After discussing the by-laws for the upcoming season we will have two free games of no-tap bowling. First annual Mud Run will be held on Sept. 14 in Kilmarnock. This is a fundraiser to benefit the YMCA/APYC Camp Kekoka’s Guardian Program.  This financial scholarship program, enables children to participate and attend camp, regardless of their family’s ability to pay. This run is for adults only, ages 18 and older.  Cost is $30 until Aug. 15, $40 after Aug. 15th, $50 day of race. At the Oct. 18 football game against Lancaster, 10 individuals including two contributors that will be inducted into the Rappahannock High School Sports Hall of Fame. Retired coach, principal and superintendent Fred Pitman highlights the inductees along with the first school division superintendent, the late Jim Stover.

The 10 individuals to be inducted include Brian Wilkins (1982), Stanley Sanders (1969), Nancy Wilson (1977), Erica Carey (1982), Danny Pierson (1976), Jack Walker (1981), Sally Smith (1974), Susan Powell Headley (1976), Otis Jackson (1976) and Rocky Newton (1974). Those that were selected in this year’s hall of fame class are encouraged to contact 804-761-6919. The Northumberland High School Athletic Booster Club is currently accepting applications for membership for the 2012-2013 season. This year the Boosters are offering 10 different membership options, in hopes to accommodate a wide range of students, parents and community members. All those interested in joining or renewing their membership for the 2013-2014 season should contact Michael Stevenson (mstevenson1@nucps.net) at Northumberland High School.

 

The Rappahannock Raiders Booster Club is currently accepting applications for membership for the 2013-2014 season. The Boosters are offering a variety of different membership options (at reduced rates if purchased prior to June 30, 2013) in hopes of accommodating a wide range of students, parents, and community members.
