Peggy Jones Hinson
Peggy Jones Hinson, wife of Larry Hinson, of Montross, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2013. She was employed at Naval Surface Weapons Center, Dahlgren. A very active member of Currioman Baptist Church, past secretary of Northern Neck Humane Society, secretary Westmoreland County Citizens Association, and Phi Theta Kappa at Rappahannock Community College.
She is survived by son, Kenneth Scates (Pam); daughter, Dinah Childers (Tom); sister, Linda Greene (Bobby), all of Montross; brother, Mahlon Jones (Jean) of Richmond; grandchildren, T. J. Childers, Sarah Childers Catalano (David) and Erin Childers, and great-granddaughter, Grace Rector. Funeral services were held on July 21 at Currioman Baptist Church. Rev. David McEntire, Rev. Bobby Greene and Pastor Wade Wilkins officiated.
Interment was in Currioman Baptist Cemetery. Pallbearers were David Catulano, Daniel Riley, Christopher Sanders, Troy Walker, Ernie Hazelwood and Jimmy Swain. Honorary pallbearers were Danny Riley, Jim Thorne, Bill Allison and Leonard Bell.

Sheila Harcum Owens
Sheila Harcum Owens passed away Monday, July 15, 2013. She was born Sept. 27, 1951 in Lancaster to Hortense Miles Moody and Theodore Harcum Sr.
She was educated in the Lancaster County Public Schools and employed at the Lancashire Convalescence and Rehabilitation Center.
On June 18, 2005, Shelia married Raymond Scott Owens. Sheila was a faithful member of the Church of Deliverance. She was predeceased by her parents; brother, Joseph Harcum, Sr.; sister, Janice Harcum and nephew, Terell Bromley.
Surviving are her loving husband, Raymond S. Owens; children, Annette Mitchell (Kelvin Sr.), Barbara Croxton (William), Joyce Wise (Sherman Sr.), Latricia Hudnall (Donte) and Raymond Owens, Jr. (Renee); grandchildren, Kelvin Butler, Antonio Carter, Joy Carter, Antwon Butler, Terrance Taylor Jr., Tiara Scott, Sherman Wise Jr., Keisha Mitchell, QueenAsia Croxton, Dajah and Deonte Hudnall, and Dayjon Dean; great-grandchildren, Destiny Carter, A’Lyric Taylor, Khloe Skyy Carter and Jaden Alexander Wise; sisters, Hortense (Therisita) Waller and Roxanna Brown; brother, Theodore Harcum, Jr.; eight nieces; four nephews, a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held July 20 at the Church of Deliverance. Interment services were held at the church cemetery.
Edward Neal Bromley
Edward Neal Bromley, 76, of Lottsburg, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2013. He was the retired vice president of Overnite Transportation and a member of Coan Baptist Church.
Survivors are his wife, Lois Ellis Bromley; three sons, Joseph Wayne Nixon (Beverly), Elliott Neal Bromley and Thomas Dale Bromley (Janet); two brothers, Lloyd A. Bromley and Lewis Edward Bromley; three sisters, Virginia Ann Saunders, Jerry Lee Lewis and Alice Lynn Greggs.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Joseph Evers and staff of the Virginia Cancer Institute, Dr. Vicki Kinsel and staff of U.S. Renal Care and the Hospice of Virginia nurses and staff.
A memorial service was held Friday, July 26, 2013 at the Welch Funeral Home, Marks Chapel with Pastor Lee Farmer Officiating. Interment followed in the Coan Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association or to the Hospice of Virginia.
Louis Watson Headley, Jr.
Louis Watson Headley, Jr., 73, of Heathsville, Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2013.
He was the son of the late Louis Watson Headley Sr. and the late Eileen Hale Headley.
He served in the United States Army, and was a financial advisor. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Matthews Headley; his daughters, Janice Headley Scott, and Karen Eileen Headley, of Richmond, Virginia; sister, Bonnie H. Burger, and her husband Mike of Richmond, Virginia; brothers, William K. Headley and his wife Judy, of Denver, North Carolina, and Dennis K. Headley and his wife Marilyn, of Midlothian, Virginia.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 3, 2013 from 10-11 a.m. at Faulkner Family Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Burgess, Virginia. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private at a later date.

Trustee John O. “John Boy” Conaway
Trustee John O. “John Boy” Conaway passed away July 13, 2013.
He was born May 15, 1951 to Mr. and Mrs. Ruth and Rogest Conaway who predeceased him.
John Boy was educated in the public schools of Northumberland County. He joined Mount Olive Baptist Church at an early age and was a member of the Trustee Ministry, the Men’s Chorus, and the Voices of Victory.
He was an employee of Omega Protein for 36 years and was also a member of the Union Rider’s Motorcycle Club.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Inez; two sons, Melvin (Marie) and Allen (Terra); a grandson, Adrian; four granddaughters, Destiny, Alexis, Manasia and Jada; four brothers, Wilbur (Barbara), Wayne (Vanessa), Thomas (Marsy) and Jimmy (Karen); three sisters, Grace (Claybrook) Jones, Mary (Ruford) Lee and Martha (Richard) Mason; two uncles; seven aunts; four sisters-in-law; a brother-in-law; a best friend, James Fallin and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held July 20, 2013 at the Mount Olive Baptist Church.
Interment services were held at the church.
Everett Clarence “E.C” Bartlett
Everett Clarence “E.C” Bartlett, 74, of Robley passed away Sunday,
July 21, 2013. He was a retired supervisor for H. Worshow and was a Richmond County School bus driver; a member and deacon of Farnham Baptist Church, where he served as Sunday school secretary and on the teller committee. He was also a member of Warsaw Bauman Lodge, Acca Shrine, Rappatomac Shrine Club and the Eastern Star, King Carter Chapter 5.
Survivors are his wife, Violet Hanks Bartlett; daughter, Connie Cleotelis (Greg) of Chesterfield; brothers, John Bartlett (Sylvia) of Callao and James Bartlett (Ann) of Lottsburg; sister, Sandra B. Dungan of Lottsburg; grandchildren, Kara Eagan (Rick), Adam Dameron; great-grandchild, Madison Eagan; and honorary grandchildren, Lexi Hanks and Tori Hanks.
Funeral services were held Thursday, July 25, 2013 at Farnham Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery. The family received friends on Wednesday evening at the Welch Funeral Home, Marks Chapel with a Masonic service at 7:15 p.m. The Reverend Rodney Morrison officiated. Pallbearers were Randy Schuyler, Danny Pierson, William Harrison, Lawrence Lewis, J.D. Dawson, Fred Wayne Mothershead, Oren Pierson and Sam Dean. Memorial contributions may be made to the Farnham Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 101, Farnham, VA 22460.
Martha F. Miller
Martha F. Miller, 84, of Heathsville, formerly of West Virginia, passed away Friday, July 26, 2013. She retired as a home-care nurse and was a member of Coan Baptist Church, Heathsville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Miller, and a grandson, David L. Hedrick. Survivors include her daughters, Cynthia M. Ayouch and her husband Simon of Falls Church, Roberta F. Trout and her husband JB of Las Vegas, Nevada; sons, Donald D. Hedrick of Las Vegas, Gerald Miller and his wife Shelia of Richmond; four grandchildren, Zachariah Ayouch, Ryan Ayouch, Michelle Collins and Jonah Trout; and four great-grandchildren. The family received friends Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at Jones-Ash Funeral Home, Heathsville.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at Coan Baptist Church, Heathsville at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
