Mary Frances Heflin
Mary Frances Heflin, 78, of Reedville passed away Friday, July 19, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Bradford Heflin; her sister, Patricia Balas and a niece and nephew. She was a docent at the Reedville Fisherman’s Museum and a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Kilmarnock.
She is survived by seven children, M. Linda Williams of Reedville, Catherine Anne Coates and her husband Rodney of Fredericksburg, Joan Marie Oliver and her husband Dann of La Plata, Maryland, John Patrick Ellis of Heathsville, David Michael Ellis of Nanjemoy, MD, Sharon Lynn Jones of Fredericksburg and Ellen H. Noblin of Fredericksburg; sisters, Agnes Walton and her husband Larry of Hyattsville, MD, Bernadette Weston and her husband Leo of Alexandria and Anne Nicely of Clifton Forge; brother, James (Mike) Lyons Jr. of Big Pool, MD; 18 grandchildren, Mary Jenkins of Callao, Becky Merryman of Burgess, Pam Swanson of Fredericksburg, Vickie Valade of King George, Dannielle Dautenhahn of Waldorf, MD, Nicole Whittenton of La Plata, MD, J.J. Ellis of Burgess, Samantha Ellis of Staunton, Aimee and Teresa Ellis, both of Tennessee, Robert Noblin Jr. of Los Lunas, NM, Dana Newman of King George, Ashley Thalassenos, Kelly Rollins, Sarah Ellis, Jennifer Griffis, Marty Jones, and Krissy Roberts, all of Fredericksburg; 26 great-grandchildren and 16 nieces and nephews.
The family received friends on July 23, 2013 from with a Rosary held at 8:00 p.m at Faulkner Family Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc.
The family also received friends an hour before the 1 p.m. service on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Kilmarnock. Burial followed at Roseland Cemetery, Reedville.

Anna Mae Sanders
Anna Mae Sanders, 79, of Warsaw passed away Saturday, July 13, 2013. She was born January 22, 1934 to Tyler C. and Grace Carleton Balderson Sanders. She graduated from Warsaw High School and continued to receive a teaching degree from Longwood College in Farmville. In her early years, Mrs. Sanders helped her parents run, the very successful, Tye’s Inn restaurant in Warsaw. Anna Mae was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 45 years, Marshall Lyle “Pete” Sanders. Mr. and Mrs. Sanders were well known in the community, especially for their annual Christmas night celebration. Mrs. Sanders devoted her entire life to teaching business at C.T. Smith High School, Washington & Lee High School, Rappahannock High School and Rappahannock Community College. She was an active member of Warsaw Baptist Church and Tappahannock Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Sanders is survived by her two children, Marshall Tyler Sanders of Warsaw and Mary Lloyd Sanders of Atlanta, Ga.; her niece and nephew; and the rest of her relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 6 – 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 19, 2013 at Welch Funeral Home/Marks Chapel in Warsaw. The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Warsaw Baptist Church. Reverend Dr. John W. Turner of Tappahannock Presbyterian Church officiated. Burial followed the funeral at Warsaw Baptist Church.

Matthew Nathaniel Hayes
Matthew Nathaniel Hayes, 35 of King George, passed away Monday, July 15, 2013. Mr. Hayes was a Rebar Fabricator with Gerdau Ameristeel, and husband of Dorothy Hayes. Survivors, in addition to his wife is daughter, Savannah Hayes; three sons, Alston Hayes, David Flierl and Christopher Flierl; mother and father, Ann and Leon Saffelle; sister, Lois H. Barr; two brothers, Thomas Hayes Jr. and Keith Hayes; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Hayes was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Hayes. Funeral Services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 18, 2013, at Welch Funeral Home/Marks Chapel, 10300 Richmond Road, Warsaw where burial followed at Fairfields Baptist Church in Burgess. Harry Leslie Donovan Sr.
Harry Leslie Donovan, Sr. 65, of Farnham, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2013. He was a retired engineer technician at Naval Surface Weapons Center, Dahlgren.
Survivors are his wife, Charlotte Gaskins Donovan; son, Les Donovan (Stephanie) of Warsaw; daughter, Tina Moss (Bill) of Callao; brothers, Harry V. “Junior” Donovan (Rose), Sherwood W. Donovan (Becky), Harold Donovan (Ann) and Ray Donovan; three grandchildren, Caleb Donovan, Devin Donovan, and Kelsey Moss; and his faithful companion, Peanut.
