June 1

Track: Virginia High School League Group A Championships at Radford University

Fourth Annual National Strongman Competition featuring invited teams from King George, Caroline, Essex, King William, Rappahannock, Colonial Beach, and Washington & Lee. Weigh-ins at 9 a.m., competition begins at 9:30. (rescheduled to June 1)

On June 1 and July 6, the Colonial Beach Girls Basketball Team will be hosting a car wash at the Colonial Beach Volunteer Fire Department from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. This event is to benefit the girls basketball team. $3 for golf carts, $5 for cars and $10 for trucks. Donations are accepted. Proceeds go to the Colonial Beach Girls Basketball Team.

 

On June 2 at 8 a.m., the annual Naylor’s Beach Du & Triathlons will take place in Warsaw presented by Belfield Physical Therapy on the campground on he Rappahannock River. Race volunteers are needed. For more information visit www.richmondmultisports.com or call 804-389-0588.

 

On June 29, the second annual Fourth of July 5K will be held at in front of the old Westmoreland Courthouse at 15803 Kings Highway in Montross. The Quinton Oaks Ladies League welcomes women golfers for the 2013 season. The league accommodates golfers of all skill levels by utilizing handicaps for placement on one of two flights.  Additionally, there are a number of enjoyable games throughout the season that allow ladies of any ability to win.  To add a little fun, we also host several parties throughout the year to celebrate our camaraderie. This year the Boosters are offering 10 different membership options, in hopes to accommodate a wide range of students, parents and community members. All those interested in joining or renewing their membership for the 2011-2012 season should contact Michael Stevenson (mstevenson1@nucps.net) at Northumberland High School.

 

The Rappahannock Raiders Booster Club is currently accepting applications for membership for the 2013-2014 season. The Boosters are offering a variety of different membership options (at reduced rates if purchased prior to June 30, 2013) in hopes of accommodating a wide range of students, parents, and community members.
